At the heart of this pen lies genuine olive wood harvested directly from Bethlehem, the biblical birthplace of Jesus Christ. Olive trees have deep spiritual roots in Christian, Jewish, and Islamic traditions—symbolizing peace, endurance, and divine connection. In Christianity, the olive tree is especially significant, with references found throughout the Bible, including Christ’s prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, believed to be part of an ancient olive grove still standing today.
Due to its religious and cultural importance, olive trees in Bethlehem are protected by law. The wood used in this pen was ethically and sustainably sourced only from the proper pruning of living trees and naturally fallen or storm-damaged branches. No trees were harmed in its collection, making each pen not only beautiful but also responsibly made.
Each piece of olive wood is selected for its rich golden tones, flowing grain patterns, and deep, spiritual symbolism. The wood is turned by hand on a lathe, then sealed and coated with twelve individual layers of high-gloss protective finish. Between each coat, I carefully sand and polish the surface to achieve a flawless, glass-like sheen that enhances the natural depth and warmth of the olive wood.
This meticulous finishing process not only protects the wood but brings it to life—revealing subtle variations in grain, color, and figure that make every pen truly one of a kind.
