At the heart of this pen is Honduran rosewood burl, renowned for its dense structure, dramatic figure, and deep reddish-brown tones. Its complex, swirling grain provides a luxurious foundation that is beautifully complemented by the velvety richness of solid ebony wood. The bold, natural contrast between these two exotic hardwoods is enhanced by polished steel accents, adding a sleek, modern edge to this warm and organic composition.
Each segment is meticulously hand-selected and arranged to create a flawless visual flow, with tight, seamless transitions and perfect symmetry. The result is a striking pen with both artistic presence and understated elegance.
This pen begins with the careful selection and pairing of premium hardwoods, followed by precision segmentation and hand-assembly in my Seattle workshop. Once turned to shape on the lathe, I apply twelve layers of high-performance protective finish—a time-intensive process that enhances both the depth and durability of the wood.
The pen is then polished using ultra-fine micro-abrasives and a glass-grade polishing compound, resulting in a mirror-like gloss that brings out every detail of the wood grain and provides a glass-smooth surface.
This pen is built on the Desire rollerball platform, a premium American-made pen kit constructed from solid stainless steel.
