At the heart of this exquisite writing instrument lies genuine abalone shell, known for its mesmerizing iridescence and rich, ocean-born color palette. Each piece of abalone is laser-cut and delicately hand-laid onto the pen barrel—an intricate process that requires exceptional precision and patience. Once the shell pieces are arranged, the entire body is encased in crystal-clear resin, then expertly turned on a lathe to its final form.
To protect and enhance the natural shimmer of the abalone, I apply twelve individual layers of high-gloss protective finish, carefully sanding and polishing between each coat. The result is a glass-like surface that not only offers exceptional durability but also provides stunning depth and luminosity, allowing the natural beauty of the shell to shine through from every angle.
The pen body is mounted on the Zeus Chrome Magnetic Cap Rollerball, a refined, well-balanced writing instrument finished in luxurious Chrome, a popular, modern finish that exudes sophistication. Designed with comfort and elegance in mind, the Zeus is postable, with the cap magnetically attaching securely to the back during use for optimal balance.
